Tailwind Nutrition Identified Over $4 Million In Opportunities & Risks Through An Opportunities Analysis
Tailwind Nutrition is a sports nutrition company focused on endurance athletes like cyclists and endurance runners. The company has a unique formula that improves the nutritional impact of its drinks for the endurance athletes that use its products. Born out of Durango, Colorado (one of the sportiest and most beautiful cities in America), the company has a cult following and is stocked in major stores like REI and Scheel’s.
The downside of rocketship success is that sometimes your processes and team must race to keep up (yes, that’s a sports pun there). Tailwind approached Insight Lime with an eager team with many big ideas about improving their company’s efficiency and meeting their ambitious growth goals. They needed help focusing their efforts to ensure their lean team could make the most possible impact with the least effort.
Through Insight Lime’s proprietary Opportunities Analysis project, we identified over $4 million in potential opportunities and risks. We scored those opportunities on a matrix that made it easy for Tailwind to prioritize its efforts for 2024. The company started its first impact project immediately after completing the opportunity analysis.
How Insight Lime’s Opportunity Analysis Works
Discuss business goals, pain points, and company strategy
We sit down with your team during a workshop to understand the biggest pain points of your company and the goals you hope to achieve in the upcoming years. We use your goals and unique situation as the lens through which we view the analysis.
2. Review the quantitative and qualitative data across the whole company.
From warehousing to digital marketing, we interview key stakeholders and review the performance data from every aspect of your business.
3. Identify opportunities and quantify
Once we have information from all departments, we use our expertise and what your team has told us to identify significant opportunities for the business. We take it a step further by using research to determine the potential of each opportunity and building a qualitative forecast using your internal revenue data.
Examples of opportunity/risk quantification:
Improving customer service can improve your profitability
Adjusting user experience to improve conversion rate on your website
Losing a key employee can cost you up to XX of their salary
4. Size the effort of each opportunity
With your help, we size the effort for each opportunity for your company. This helps you choose between efforts to prioritize, as some opportunities may have a high revenue potential but also require significant investment or shifting of your ways of working, while others might be easier to complete.
5. Share and support the discussion
We sit down with you and review our findings, using our coaching skills to facilitate discussion with your leadership team to help determine the best course of action.
